HabitGP is a habit tracking application designed for personal productivity and goal achievement. This privacy policy explains how we handle your information when you use our app.

Your privacy is important to us. HabitGP is built with a privacy-first approach, storing all your habit data locally on your device.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Data You Create

• Habit Information: Habit names, descriptions, icons, colors, and completion targets you create
• Completion Records: Daily completion history for your habits
• User Preferences: Display name, app settings, theme preferences, and notification settings
• Week History: Historical performance data and championship points

2.2 Data Storage

• All data is stored locally on your device using secure device storage (AsyncStorage)
• No personal data is transmitted to external servers by default
• Your data never leaves your device unless you explicitly use the Export Data feature

2.3 Crash Reporting

HabitGP uses Sentry for crash reporting to improve app stability. Sentry collects:

• Anonymous crash logs and stack traces
• Device type and OS version (no personal identifiers)
• App version and session context at the time of a crash

Crash data is anonymous and cannot be traced back to individual users. No habit data or personal information is included in crash reports.

3. How We Use Your Data

3.1 Primary Use

Your habit data is used exclusively to:

• Display your habits and track your progress
• Calculate statistics and performance metrics
• Send local notifications (if you enable them)
• Generate exports when you use the Export Data feature

3.2 Data Processing

All data processing occurs locally on your device. We do not:

• Sell your data to third parties
• Use your data for advertising
• Share your data with other users
• Access your data remotely

4. Data Storage and Security

4.1 Local Storage

• All data is stored using AsyncStorage on your iOS device
• Data persists until you manually delete it or uninstall the app
• Uninstalling the app permanently removes all data from your device

4.2 Data Backup

• We recommend using the Export Data feature regularly to back up your data
• Exported data is saved to your device and can be imported later
• You are responsible for securing your exported backup files

5. Third-Party Services

5.1 RevenueCat (Purchase Validation)

HabitGP uses RevenueCat to process and validate in-app purchases. RevenueCat receives:

• Purchase receipt data from Apple to verify subscription status
• An anonymous app user ID (not linked to your name or email)

RevenueCat does not receive your habit data, display name, or any other personal information. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy for details.

5.2 Sentry (Crash Reporting)

HabitGP uses Sentry to capture anonymous crash reports. Sentry receives:

• Stack traces and error logs when the app crashes
• Device type, OS version, and app version (no personal identifiers)

Sentry does not receive your name, email, habit data, or any personally identifiable information. See Sentry's Privacy Policy for details.

5.3 No Advertising or Tracking

• HabitGP does not use any advertising networks
• HabitGP does not use any user tracking or behavioral analytics services
• No data is sold or shared with advertisers or data brokers

5.4 Apple Services

• HabitGP is distributed via Apple App Store and TestFlight
• Apple's privacy policy applies to app distribution and payment processing
• We do not collect or share data with Apple beyond standard app metadata required for distribution

6. Notifications

6.1 Local Notifications

• Notification permissions are used only for habit reminders
• All notifications are generated locally on your device
• Notification preferences are stored locally
• You can disable notifications at any time in Settings

6.2 Push Notifications

We do not currently use remote push notifications. If this feature is added in the future, we will update this policy and request your permission.

7. Children's Privacy

HabitGP does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app is rated 4+ and suitable for all ages. Since all data is stored locally and not transmitted, no personal information is collected from any users, including children.

8. Your Rights and Choices

8.1 Data Access

You have complete access to all your data through the app interface:

• View all habits and completion history
• Export all data at any time
• Review app settings and preferences

8.2 Data Deletion

You can delete your data at any time:

• Delete individual habits in the app
• Clear all data via Settings → General → Clear All Data
• Uninstall the app to remove all data permanently

8.3 Data Export

• Use Settings → General → Export Data to create a backup
• Exported data is in JSON format
• You can import this data later or on another device

8.4 GDPR Rights (EU Users)

If you are in the European Union, you have additional rights:

• Right to Access: Request information about data we process
• Right to Rectification: Correct inaccurate data
• Right to Erasure: Request deletion of your data
• Right to Data Portability: Receive your data in a structured format
• Right to Object: Object to data processing
• Right to Withdraw Consent: Withdraw consent at any time

9. International Data Transfers

Since all data is stored locally on your device, there are no international data transfers. If we introduce cloud features in the future, we will ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for international data transfers.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected with an updated "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be communicated through:

• An in-app notification
• A notice on this page
• Email (if we have your contact information)

Your continued use of HabitGP after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

11. Data Retention

• Active Use: Data persists as long as you use the app
• After Deletion: Data is immediately removed from your device
• After Uninstall: All data is permanently deleted when you uninstall the app
• Exported Data: You control retention of exported backup files
